With Florida's two top electric companies hoping to raise their rates by as much as 31 percent next year, the Public Service Commission is asking them to disclose the salaries of their top executives.
The PSC, in an attempt to determine whether it should allow Florida Power & Light and Progress Energy to raise rates, state that the salary data is essential to "evaluate the appropriateness of the employee compensation to be included in the rate base."
The electric companies disagree.
