Choppy seas and wind have taken its tole on the lobster miniseason. On just the first day of the two-day season, at least two divers have died and there have been several boating mishaps.
The regular season is August 6 to March 31, but this miniseason, which runs through tonight at midnight, is popular with recreational divers.
Last year, during the miniseason, five people died along the Treasure Coast and South Florida.
