Ruben E Rodriguez and Rebecca Garcia have been working together since 2007. Garcia, who worked as an ultrasound technician at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, made a flat $1000 a month from Rodriguez in exchange for confidential hospital records of patients who had suffered injuries and had been treated at the hospital.
Rodriguez then sold those records to a lawyer who used the information to solicit the patients for legal representation.
